Alexander Sah M.D. - Biography

Past-president of AHF (2022-2023), Dr. Alexander Sah specializes in minimally invasive hip and knee replacements, outpatient surgery, as well as complex hip and knee revision surgeries.  He practices at Sah Orthopaedic Associates at the Institute for Joint Restoration in Fremont, California.

Dr. Sah was first drawn to orthopedic surgery because of its ability to help people relieve pain, restore function, and reclaim their quality of life.

He attended college and medical school in Philadelphia before completing his Orthopaedic training at Harvard in Boston. He pursued specialized fellowship training in minimally invasive and revision hip and knee surgery at Rush University in Chicago.  His participation in the early years of AHF led to his adoption of the anterior approach into his practice.

He has participated at AHF at all levels, from faculty to moderator to program chair to President.  He is proud to be co-editor with Joel Matta MD of the book: Anterior hip replacement- from origins to current advanced techniques. He has found the AHF community to be one of the most important resources in shaping his career to date.
